First week of classes

As my first week of classes comes to an end one of the things I've discovered I like most about campus is that it feels so spacious. The majority of the building are built so that the ground floor is left open (as seen in the picture). This provides shelter from the rain and sun but it also provides the space for students to hold activities outside allowing for passersby to stop and enjoy debates, competitions or whatever else is going on. It gives you the feeling of being surrounded by a community, in a hive of activity. It's not the buildings that make up the university so much as the outdoor spaces.
