On the waterfront
A perfect day for gardening, albeit a bit muddy for actually getting onto the soil. Lots of tidying up, pruning and cutting back.
With a lot of effort I managed to dig out a quince which has done very little since I planted it. Hard work! I started off with plenty of layers on and by the time I'd finished there was a heap of discarded clothing, jacket, hat, body warmer, jumper . . . ! Lots of uninspiring foliage, and not a flower or a fruit to be seen, so out it had to go. I'm with William Morris on this one - "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful" and that goes for outside too!
Walked along to see neighbour B in the afternoon. Her memory is getting pretty bad now, but she's always very happy to see Ollie!
