World War I flag
This is a flag that was in my grandmother"s trunk. She had 4 sons that were in the service at the same time. We are assuming that it was hung in her window after my dad was called to service. The flag has a date on it patented Nov. 6, 1917. A side note on her son that was drafted. The war was declared over the day after he became a soldier. They never cashed his check for I dollar that he received for his one day of service. My aunt had kept it after my uncle died. Her house was burned down,so I don't know what ever happened to it.
