The stone tower commemorating The Battle of Largs in 1263, the battle was between the Scots and the Norwegians after the Norwegians landed during a storm. ( we won ! ) The tower is about seventy foot tall and was unveiled in 1912.
The Largs Viking Festival is held this year from the 1st- 9th of September and if you are around the area it's well worth a visit.
