Hoping and praying

My local soccer team played in the sixth round of the Amateur Senior League Cup and were beaten by a goal to nil but did manage to gather the biggest crowd in their history to cheer them on. They also made friends for life later as they spent the evening and night being entertained by the club in a local hostelry.
On my way to the match I spotted the rainbow across the fields and was hoping it would be our day. We lost the match to a fine Limerick side but in many ways we won the day..... the new support, the new respect, the outpouring of good will and the positives shown by the camaraderie throughout it all......just saying
