Broken

A fun morning and a not so fun afternoon.

Morning was spent at soft play then a birthday lunch for Susie's Dad. Lots of fun was had and the boys were well and truly tired out.

This afternoon we took Brody up to the Sick Kids. For the last week he's been crawling differently and we'd put it down to him wanting to walk instead. But the last couple of days we noticed that he was reluctant to put any weight on his right arm. He's been fine using it for grabbing and pulling himself around and he's not been in any pain or discomfort but we thought it was best to get it checked out.

A quick x-ray was all it took for the Dr to confirm that he had actually broken his elbow and it was the slight swelling round the joint that was stopping his crawling. Nothing like leaving you're child with a broken limb for a week to make you feel like a terrible parent. Thankfully there is nothing they do with the type of minor break he has so he left pretty much as he came in, albeit with a wee plaster from the blood test they did to ensure there was no infection. However in doing the bloods they also established that he is anaemic and so he's also got some liquid iron to take for a few months. Bloody kids, eh?
