not your common roadside sight

This morning we were on our way to Lake Ashby, a freshwater habitat, for bird watching, and were treated to this sight of a Bald Eagle eating road kill. Since it was eating, it did not fly off as I approached to take its picture!
As an added bonus, I was also treated to my first ever glimpse of a Limpkin at the lake. See the extra.
And lastly, we were all treated to soft serve ice cream on the way home!!
Just another great day in paradise.
