A good strong wind

this afternoon I chose the right time to head for the beach to get the tide level right. Probably because it was mid afternoon, I didn't see a lot of bird life. However, I managed to get close enough to this Kawaupaka (Little Pied Shag) to get a clear photo. I continued around the edge of the bay, and at one point managed to run up 40 or so of the 200 odd steps up to Highfield Park.

When I got back to the beach house, tsuken was doing karate training. Specifically, he was doing the kata, Kanku Sho. The extra is of him in mid jump.
