Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Pink

This is a bizarre week.  Today is the day we celebrate the birthday and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King.  He once said “our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”    This week will end with an inauguration of a person who opposes  all that Dr. King stood for in civil and human rights,.   I think I’ll be busy doing something else on Friday.   Then on Saturday all over the world there will be at least 370 Women’s marches that stand for human rights of all.  We will not be silent.   It’s been suggested that participants going to the D.C. march and elsewhere here wear these knitted pink “pussyhats”   Seattle ran out of pink yarn for awhile but reordered…so here is my hat, almost finished.   (It’s made so there are little “cat ears” ,,this is lovely soft alpaca wool)  …I plan to march in Seattle on Saturday, even tho I usually avoid big crowds and there are 30,000 predicted.  It’s important.  More about the march later….
