The Race Is on

Today was the 3rd Annual Ellon Pedal Kart Race, and the first time we have managed to get down to see it.
Good timing for us, as the previous ones were run by one guy, and although his intentions were good, the race itself was a tad dis-organised, I am led to believe.
This year he had enlisted the help of the Ellon Rotary, and it was success.
The weather stayed fine for the hour long race, in which the entrants, in teams of four, had to do as many laps as possible in the allocated time.
One team crashed on their first or second lap and wrecked their machine.
Our neighbour, Gordon and his works' team came fourth (after finishing last the previous year) and they were raising money for the local scout group.
As wellas the kart race, there was various cycle races held between 11.am and 2.pm. We, needless to say, was not up in time to see them, although Gordon's son, Callum, won the under eight's race.
