Today I started a PhD - Grud have mercy on me

It's a PhD in Creative Writing, which I'm undertaking part-time via distance learning with Lancaster University. I'll be writing a novel plus a 20,000 word essay following extensive academic research and thinking. The goal is to finish around 2020, but we'll see how that goes...

The blip features my shiny new 2017 Moleskine diary - much decorated to stop me confusing it with past year's diaries - on top of the book that first inspired my journey towards my putative PhD novel.
