West Norwood blips

A painting?

K and I dropped her daughter and a friend at the shopping mall in Christchurch and drove up to Castle Hill. It’s on the way to Arthur’s Pass in the mountains. The first part of the drive goes through totally flat farmland and then winds up into the mountains. It’s so beautiful. I took this from the side of the road before we got there.

Castle Hill has limestone rocks sticking up all over it. From a distance they look small and it’s only when you climb up that you realise how huge they are. There’s a panorama in the extras but I decided on the photo that looked a bit like a painting for my main blip.

In the evening it rained and as we were eating dinner K’s husband, P, spotted a rainbow. A bit later there was some very dramatic light. The second extra is of that light although the photo doesn’t do it justice.
