70th
A party! For was it not the 70th of my dear old pal, LMcC. It was. Well, done sir, that’s your allotted lot: three score years and ten. Borrowed time, noo. So here’s the darling man himself, in front of a photo of himself helming a Loch Long class sailboat in his dashing younger days at Tighnabruaich when he was a sailing instructor. I know that before then he’d been a bit of an arty hippy sort hanging round Glasgow with the folk crowd like Matt McGinn. I think. Then the long years of parenthood, doing arty display stuff and turning his hand to a bit of teaching. Now his first love (OK, his second after J - let’s be diplomatic) is fly fishing, an obsession for him. And a bit more. So, it was a grand party: his sisters, husbands and weans, and their weans too. And a select band of auld pals, which I was privileged to be part of. Lang may yer lum reek, auld yin.
