New (old) car day

If you know me in person, you know my obsession with buying cheap cars. Or "sheds" as they're affectionately referred to.

In this case, I wasn't enjoying using the Toyota for the trip to Milton Keynes every day. It's a small car, built for ragging around B roads and track. As well as this, the general wear and tear my route puts on it is making me sad!

Anyway, enter this. A 1998 Volvo V70 TDI. It's basically like driving an armchair, and is (supposedly) as dependable as an old Labrador. So far so good, for my £650 everything on it works. And for a big 2.5l 5cyl engine coupled to an automatic gearbox, it's surprisingly good on diesel too. Considering how cheap it was, I'm happy to thrash it daily and keep the Toyota for the weekend. It'll be nice jumping in it and associating it with "fun weekend", rather than my commute!
