Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

This could be ...

... the last time...

The cough and cold that has been coming since Friday night's galavanting in the fresh (very fresh) air has arrived. But a morning in bed, reading the Sunday papers on my iPad, seems to have helped.

Imagine writing that a few years ago! 'I read the Sunday papers on my iPad' ! Incredible, but all just taken for granted now.

Did a few domestic things then had a wander down town for almost definitely the last time. I'm so glad the weather has been kind. The Fringe officially finishes tomorrow, but I wonder how many street performers will just pack up today. I'm hoping the performers upstairs call it a day. And I hope they're too exhausted to party for the last time tonight.

I must say, my enjoyment of the Fringe and all the mad performers is dampened slightly by living in close quarters with some of them. This is a new phenomenon for us, as the new owners of the flat just started doing this last Festival. So I will wave them a fond farewell, sweep the stairs and the footpath and await the new intake of students. Last year's students were very nice chaps, quiet, studious, and one even did the back garden. What will this year bring?

This is the price you pay for living in a tenement in a very handy part of town. Has this price become too high? Possibly.

This chap has been well blipped many times, but he is pretty good.

I think a nice afternoon watching some episodes of 'Six Feet Under' is in line. All I need is a big bag of Aussie Licorice Allsorts. Which I don't have... :-(
