Out with the old ...

Nothing special - just an untidy pile of rotting old logs.

There are numerous piles of these in many nature reserves ... quite deliberate. They give shelter to hedgehogs, snakes, insects and many other creatures.

And they also shelter this new oak sapling ... so - in with the new.
