Body Art

Lots of flesh on display today at the annual DC Tattoo Convention -- along with piercings, leather and various interesting hair styles :)

Also some tears and grinding teeth, as tattoo-ies sat for several hours getting adorned with various art renditions: the less flesh, the more pain apparently. This couple was getting matching feet tats and she was downing her cocktail faster with each needle prick ;)

I saw interesting variations of style from the tattoo artists: some with simple line drawings; others with elaborate renditions using shadows and gradations -- real works of art and their clients come back every year for more. The sessions range from 30mns to 8-hour days on three consecutive days. I'm too skittish about pain to ever contemplate that :)
