A slice of Lesley's life

Not going in

Red flag day at the beach meant no swimming but big waves were too enticing not to go down to the shore and have a look at. Mainly stayed dry apart from a little wetness around the bottom edge of clothing and one flip-flop rescue for V.

Fortunately swimming was not the reason for being at the beach. Which was pretty much solely to eat paella. When we had lunched at the beach earlier in the week we had been too early for paella so we booked ourselves a later table for today, brunched on pancakes after a morning dip in the pool and happily filled ourselves with paella. All this late eating, after our late night at the flamenco threw us even later out in our Spanish schedule than normal so with siestas happening at around 5pm the evening pool session went on until 8pm. Still stuffed to the gills with paella dinner was more of a snack affair. Followed by a quick introductory game of Newmarket which was a nostalgia moment for me and Rob - not speaking for him but I reckon it must be thirty years since I last played. The kids all loved it and we have promised them a longer game for tomorrow.
