No. 1 Wood Street

It's a while since I've done anything on my #onestreet project of Greenhill Street.  I had just about completed that with only a couple of gaps, Sue Ryder and Prontaprint (I have taken pictures of these, just not published them on blip).

Anyway, I've decided to start a new project and this will feature Wood Street.  Wood Street runs on from Greenhill Street, with a short gap at the Rother Street junction, and leads to the town centre roundabout at Bridge Street, High Street, Union Street and Henley Street.  The building numbering starts from the roundabout at the corner of High Street and Wood Street where the new jewellers, Fraser Hart, is situated.  This used to be the site of Austin Reed before they went bankrupt.

Why Stratford needs another jewellers I don't know, we have almost as many as we have coffee shops!

Fraser Hart's address is actually High Street even though the main entrance is on Wood Street. Number 1 Wood Street is the red door that can be seen on the far right of the picture.  This leads to offices on the first floor, although there is no brass plaque against the door, just a parking notification, see extra.

This Grade II listed building was built in 1840-41 in Georgian style and includes this shop plus Vision Express next door and part of Debenhams.
