Bill's Belts
This is Bill, who kindly permitted me to share his photo while he created me a new belt.
These tools are familiar and well used versions of leather working tools that date back 100s of years.
He was cutting 5mm from the edge of the belt before he attached a smaller buckle to it. The metal tool attached to the work bench allowed him to shave off a couple of mm from the inside face, thus allowing it to bend around a buckle more easily.
He was passionate about leather working and certainly was an artisan. Watch out for him in the Melbourne Markets too.
Thanks Bill!
