A bit rusty.. in HDR
The lights are still working in the gauge glasses!
The glasses belogg to the feedwater pre-heaters 6B and 7B of unit EC 20.
In the glasses one could see the level of the condensate in the heater.
However; the insulated cilinder at the left was meant to regulate that level automatically by means of a so-called Fisher Level Trol which is explained here.
The condensate (coming from the steam that pre-heated the feedwater) was sent back to the feedwatertank.
Once it was working well, you should not adjust it anymore because it was possible to bring the whole system of level and temperature in the heater(s) in oscillation.... We had colleagues who did that from time to time... grrrr.
