Great Horned Owl

This is literally the only photo I took today. Taken at 9:00 AM at The Wildlife Center - this owl was the first patient treated - my friend Pam is holding him/her. From the looks of it, there's a leg thing going on. But to be honest, I don't know. Didn't ask. Instead as soon as I took this shot I went back and got a Red-tailed Hawk out of its crate, and the morning went on from there. This is typically the slower time of the year - but it's been pretty busy with owls and hawks lately. Most of them have been hit by cars.

I did tell him not to close his eyes, and I thought I'd caught him with them open, but... seemingly not.
