Sheesha

Depending on where you are in the World, the Sheesha is also known as Hubbly Bubbly, the Waterpipe, Hookah, Narghile or Qalyan. Here in Egypt, the sheesha are in almost every coffee shop, in every town.....

Originating from India and Persia, the sheesha is used to smoke tobacco, by passing the smoke through the water to purify and cool it. Some smokers believe that is a healthier option that smoking cigarettes, but it has been said that smoking a Sheesha is the equivalent of 20 cigs!

Aside from the health issues, the men (And some women behind closed doors) here, like nothing more than to relax with the pipe and chat with friends. I personally love the bubbling sound of the water as the smoker inhales and as a passer by, Egypt would not be Egypt without these on the streets.

On a personal note, I gave up smoking 3 years ago!
