Today was registration and orientation. In the morning we picked up our student cards and mingled with other exchange students. Then in the afternoon we had an orientation session that started 30 min late. The guy in charge of halls gave an amusing somewhat awkward rambling monologue. But after all the talks about what we can't do and how we should make the most of this opportunity (as if that wasn't a given!) we had the chance to sign up for a tour organized by one of the departments. I was able to get a spot on one to Lantau Island to see Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery next month and am already excited. Then for dinner a group of us went to a Korean place called The Cup. It was a very good ending to a day of newness.
On another note I had to take a freezing shower last night because we could not figure out how to get the boiler to work. Turns out you have to flip the switch that says save energy. Go figure!
