Nearly fell foul of the weather today; delayed in snowy traffic getting to Stansted this evening - never before have I arrived at an airport less then 30 minutes before scheduled departure. Already knew that the gate had been open for more than 10 minutes from checking online while I was in the car (as a passenger) so not expecting to make it. A very swift pass through security (didn't even put my belt back on) after letting them know my flight was boarding, then a mad rush to the gate. Running through the never-ending crescent of shops to the departure gates, only to see the sign that my gate was another 10 minute walk away! Eventually got to it as the last of the queue filed through, only for us to be held there for 30 minutes before actually getting on the plane. Then thinking we were about to go, when they said we were now in a queue for de-icing so would be at least another 35 minutes. Then when finally landed in Glasgow had to de-ice the car in the car park. Finally home a couple of hours late.  A LONG day!
