Quiet start today (apart from +2/3 headbanging to some Pearl Jam) then into Perth for some chores including a trip to the bike shop and an early lunch at Reids (excellent as always). We also needed to get a photo of everyone in the family for +2/3's school project so snapped some portraits around Perth. +1/3 got me and got a cracker.
Back home, sorted out a few more things then finally fixed my back wheel (less than two weeks... that's not bad for me). Whilst the wheels are nice and light, there's no comparison between a machine built wheel and a hand built one. To fix the wheel I had to strip out all of the spokes and completely rebuild the wheel. Not that bad apart from the fact that the nipples had been loctite'd to the spokes. The nipples are also aluminium and so are particularly fragile. On top of that, not a jot of grease in sight. Bah.
There are a series of carved stone animal heads outside St. John's kirk in Perth. What to do when faced with a lion? Poke it in the eye.
