Day 8

Early morning cruise down the river resulted in seeing some amazing wildlife, yet more monkeys and 5 sun basking crocs, an orangutan sleeping in his nest, birds and otters.

There were 5 otters and they were extremely cute to watch running on the shore of the river, apprarently we were very lucky to see the otters as they are not often spotted.

We went on another hike in the jungle today, had a look inside a tree which saved peoples lives during the 2nd world war as they hid inside it. We hiked up to a viewing tower over looking the river, you can see jungle for miles with the Kinabatangan river snaking through it, quite amazing!

We got to go on one more cruise at dusk where we managed to spot both a common kingfisher and a stork billed kingfisher, along with hornbills, kites, eagles monkeys etc
