Clorus = green and phytos = plant. So literal translation is Green plant.
Originally, the plant from South Africa. He is cultivated since the mid-19th century as a houseplant and is best known for its green leaves with white stripes along the leaf edges.
Jokingly this plant was called the Secretary plant or plant staff.

The young plants grow on long stems that grow from the center of the plant. These young sprouts can be easily repotted as new plants. Once the young shoots have something of roots they can be put in the ground to eventually grow into a full-fledged large plant.
