Day 5

Are treat for climbing the mountain was to visit the sepilok Rehabilitation Centre :)

They do fantastic work here, rescuing orphaned orangutans and teaching them how to become independant in the wild etc.

You can visit during feeding times and they are free to come and go as they please, we went to both the morning and afternoon feeds and were lucky enough to see 3 each time, they are amazing animals to watch and have incredibly human like actions.

Our guide had arranged for us to go on a night walk around the jungle at the centre, when we met there, this young orangutan was having a wander round, he was unbelievably close to us, it was definately the highlight of the day!

We also got to see a juvenille pit viper, scorpion, giant ants, frogs, fireflys, flying squirrels and other insects. The noise of the jungle is quite amazing
