Out on the Dam

We had a wonderful day out on the Dam test-driving a speedboat!

We went around the dam seeing it from the waterside for a change. The last time Mr G and I were on the water was a good few years ago but the children have been out a few times with friends.

I took lots of photos but chose this one because of the shimmering blue water and blue yacht covers. This is a view of the yacht club which was very quiet today but I am told that next week should be busy as they have a spring weekend, season opening, fun day!

There is something special about being on a boat. It is so relaxing and you are able to escape the world for a while as time seems to stand still. We went out for a ride and then came back into our jetty to have pizza's at the boathouse restaurant. We went out again this time towards the other side of the dam and our old estate. The best part of this whole experience is that the boat is launched and then returned to its boathouse for you. The life of the jet-set!

I think we are going to have a fun-filled summer with our new toy!

EDIT: turns out this was not the boat for us, so we will have to keep looking!
