Wet & Wild Wednesday
Sat in the car talking to hubby and decided this was it!
Street lights, hospital lights, moon light and rain!
And a wee light bulb flashed in my head!!! ☼ !!!!
Got some real good teaching today on chest xray interpretation, starting with:
Identification – right patient, DOB, date of xray and if it’s AP or PA view.
Quality – penetration – can you see the spine? Inspiratory effort – how many ribs? Rotation – clavicles width and distance from spine.
A – airway – trachea including right and left bronchi
B – breathing – zones – upper/mid/lower
C – cardiac – contour, arotic arch/notch, atria, ventricles and size
D – diaphragm – cardiac and costo phrenic angles, sharp/blunt, air, opacity and menisci level
E – everything else – bones, soft tissue (breast), surgical emphysema, pacemakers, ET tubes, NG tube and other lines
SUMMARISE – significant findings, differential diagnosis and management
Then… more ECG interpretation
