THE JAPANESE MARIONETTE

Sits on the cupboard with the mirrors at the landing. And since I objected to go for a walk in the miserable weather I took some photos of it.
Somehow I had pressed on the self timer which did not proceed because it was too dark I guess), and it took me ages to go back to normal again.
There had been an exhibition in a gallery when we still lived in Leiden, with many marionettes, all so beautiful in the amazing colours of velvet fabric.
At that time I loved the colour purple, so I choose the puppet clothed in that colour. The splendor of the original colour since long gone.
