Rest In Peace Neil Armstrong
I didn't really have a blip planned for today, and I wish this image was far better as a commemoration to a great man, but it's all I could do right now.
As I am sure many of you are just hearing, Neil Armstrong has died.
The first man to set foot on the moon, and one of only twelve to do so, he is often referred to as a national hero in America. That is fair enough but I would call him a global hero. Leaving not only the American flag on the moon, but the first human footprint, to be preserved in the dust and rock for ever.
He was a reluctant explorer, who showed great bravery in setting foot on the most alien terrain of all.
On July 21, 02:56 UTC, the world watched as Neil Armstrong set foot in the Sea of Tranquillity, 384,400 km from Earth and said the immortal words "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
The envy of many, a hero and inspiration to all, Rest In Peace Neil Alden Armstrong, we will never forget you.
