ALIEN!
Bigger - be afraid, be VERY afraid!
No, not really an alien ... nor the greatest of shots technically either. But it was another of those 'this chance may not come again' shots that I couldn't say 'no' to! Not long after midnight I went into the kitchen to wash my wine glass and spotted this snail climbing up the window pane outside. I can't say I've ever seen the underside of a snail before .... I wonder how many of us have? As I stood and watched it closely for a minute or so, I noticed that it kept opening its mouth. Of course the one thought that entered my head was 'BLIP'! So I used my headtorch to illuminate it better and took some shots. The resulting images did have some light reflections and other blemishes on the glass so I've tidied them somewhat to give a better background. On the blip image the entire shell is obscured by its flattened body ....
Here's a quite different view of said snail.
If I hadn't found the snail I had 3 other highly blippable shots by lunchtime, all of which I was pretty pleased with:
1) As I took some milk bottles out for collection just after taking the snail shots I also saw this pretty moth on the cottage wall.
2) Taken in the paddock this morning a very faded Large Brown (I think)
3) Also taken in the paddock this morning I was well pleased with this almost front view of a Gatekeeper (which would probably have been my blip if it weren't for the snail)
