Hood 2 Coast

Today my town is being invaded by 17,000 walkers, runners, volunteers and sponsors. It is the big end of summer event known as the Hood to Coast. It is one of the top relay races in the world, and teams come from every where to participate.

I have friends who crossed the finish line, in the walking event, in just over 30 hours; this is not one of them.

The walking teams actually start in Portland rather than on Mt Hood. Some of them wear costumes. This team of women all had on the same outfit as this lady, but she was the only one in the makeup. She was their final walker, the one that crossed the finish line.

As you can see it is another fabulous day here. I am now off to a quieter part of the beach, down near the cove.
