Spontaneous day

Hopped on the tram to ( town) Manchester
Hit my destination 15 minutes later
I decided on the last minute to visit
Central Library where....
they have a genealogy dept
I have never known the actual birthday of my Paternal grandma ..Ethel... I knew she was born in 1900....
I was only there for 1hour 30 mins
And I came out with loads of info

My Dad was 12 when the Second World War broke out so he was evacuated to Disley
And he always told me that he was very homesick... and that he escaped and walked all the way home to north Manchester... ( 12 miles)... we found Dad
On the 1939 census living in Disley
I checked out the address and the house is still there...
fantastic... I'm going again
