A little bit more

Don't seem to have achieved much today, in spite of an early start. A few phone calls, only one of which produced the desired result, and not much else. It was hot, but bearable, with a perfect summer evening downpour too cool things down just after I had taken the dogs for a walk and packed the car.
 
We dropped in on our ever-more-housebound friend on the way down - first time we've seen her since near the end of November - and were delighted to find the younger of her Brazilian grandsons with her. He lives in Minas Gerais state, but has been with her for 10 days or so and is enjoying his visit. We were  happy to see him again, he's a particularly nice lad.
 

Then back down to the furnace that is Rio - I've been dreading it all day. I've brought the pompom plant down, I don't want to miss its development, and it has faced Rio heat before.
