Mount Buffalo

3 hours to Melbourne from Myrtelford, so we drove up Mount Buffalo for and explore in the mourning. The road ascends to 1400m from 300m in not very far, so lots of winding and hairpins.
Mount Buffalo has been a national park since 1898, making it one of Australia's oldest. It isn't a single peak, rather a collection of peaks ascending from a plateau. We ran up mount Dunn, and I ran straight back whilst the girls ran for a little longer. Getting back just before a heavy thunderstorm I had lunch inside the car, whilst Katie and Charlotte got completely soaked!
