Icy waterfall

We drove up to Asheville, North Carolina so I could get some snow photos.  I bribed Jerry with lunch at the Moose Cafe which is a really good home cooking restaurant next to the Asheville Farmers Market.   We definitely found the snow starting about 80 miles from the house along Interstate 26.

After lunch we drove to Bridal Veil Falls just outside of Brevard (which was not really on the way home but not too far out of the way).  It is very close to the road and so we did not have to hike anywhere to see it.  Of course, the road was a little icy in places and Jerry really wanted to turn around..but there were no places to turn around until we got to the falls.  Icicles were hanging all on the mountain side.  The waterfall did not disappoint as I knew it would have icicles.  Unfortunately it was later in the day and the falls itself was in the shade.   We did not attempt to walk down to the lower observation platform..the steps were nothing but ice.

So I think I had my fix of snow for this winter!   Thursday, spring comes as our temperature here is supposed to be 74F!
