HappyBirthdayBoy

Early start to get the pancakes ready (probably made up for the lack of balloons), and the birthday day kicked off. CarbBoy realised 5 minutes before school time that he didn't have goggles or a hat for swimming. Happily, it hadn't occurred to him to look in his actual swimming bag, where I had put has things last June because he would "only put them somewhere daft and lose them". But it is his birthday so I didn't labour the point. TallGirl gave the rolling eyes look though.

Made all the more amusing when five minutes later she asked, shamefacedly, if there was a spare swimming hat in the house as she started swimming today too and didn't have one (having given hers to CarbBoy two years ago after the last time she had school swimming). Anyway, all worked out fine when CarbBoy's swimming was cancelled (his swimming teacher being, ironically, blocked in by flooding) so he came home and TallGirl got his/her hat.

More school work once all that was over, the joy for CarbBoy of a bonus present of a red controller for his PS4, pizza for dinner, a call to Grandma and the Goldberg's, with bonus Sherlock (and Lego).
