A Patch of Blue

Finally, sun! The clouds thinned and the sun shone on the land early this morning. It was delightful to see blue sky! The weather warmed to 32F/0C and after the bitter cold spell it felt nearly balmy!

More shoveling and snow plowing, as 12 inches fell between yesterday afternoon and this morning. What a snowy winter we are experiencing! Tonight NBC news announced that currently 41 out of the 50 states have snow...that's a lot of cold weather!

When I thought of a title for this blip, "A Patch of Blue", it struck a chord. In googling it, I learned it's the title of a 1965 movie of the same name starring Sidney Poitier, Elizabeth Hartman and Shelly Winters. It is about a black man and a blind white teenager. The hyperlink is to the title theme composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith.
