The Mussel Pot
Woke up to a beautiful sunny morning in Picton, where ferries cross between the North and South Islands of NZ.
This is Marlborough Wine coumtry. We booked onto a scenic tour including visits to two famous wineries followed by lunch in Havelock, the Mussel capital of New Zealand. So it would have been rude not to try the mussels. This is the platter for two, which included Mussel Chowder, and mussels cooked every which way: marinaded, curried, battered, grilled, smoked, garlic and chilli. A feast!
