After The Rain

It rained this afternoon.
Not drizzle, not a shower, not even steady rain.
It downpoured, it was torrential.
Thunder and lightning.
I expected to see Noah and his ark come floating down the Thames.

Afterwards the sun came out as if nothing had happened.
I hoped for a rainbow, but no joy.

Oh well.
