Before the storm
I feel deeply depressed that this country will install someone who can thrash everyone, offend everyone he pleases, as its president. These are no legal offenses in this country. I feel ashamed to be subjected to the government of a person who has neither culture nor education, because of an electoral system that dates from more than 200 years ago. Who is not willing to play with open cards, when it comes to his finances. Whose conflicts of interest are so out in the open, in everybody's faces and still, nobody does anything to prevent this disaster. He will drain the country, undo everything that was well done in the last 8 years. He and his cabinet will make themselves and the 0,1 % of billionaires and millionaires even richer and guess who will have to pay for everything?
For me it is time to find a peaceful tropical island where I will not have any reception of TV or Internet. I am extremely tired of having to listen to all this more than unpleasant news from morning til night. Not without reason do I not have a Twitter account. Why do I have to hear all the nonsense that this man thinks through the other media? It would be a wonderful possibility of protest if these mental farts could just be ignored by all the other media. Just as if nobody had said something.
My question is why there are not more people who rise up to protest. I think, even if we don't have as much money as the rich, trying to protect our precious little life keeps most of us from being a revolutionary. Only those who have nothing to loose anymore, are willing to go that path and protest. Already Adenauer in those far away post war times in Germany when the ghost of communism lingered, said:" Give the people the possibility to acquire a house of their own and they will forget the revolution" ....
On the other hand there are several things here in the US that are not half as good as in Germany. $ 7.85 minimum wage per hour? Health care costs? Medical drug costs? Paid time to be with your new born baby? paid vacation? How many children live in poverty here? Why do we have so many people in prisons, in majority black, native Indians or Mexicans? Certainly not because they were so happy in this land of the rich.
Excuse my rant. The situation feels so unbearable and extremely shameful to me.
