Thistle Down

By Ethel

Sleep

Just a little sleeping,
Just a little nap.
A minute on the sofa,
Will fill in every gap.

Where my strength is lacking,
I will be renewed.
Even to the places,
Where I have come unglued.

A drop-off for a minute,
Will give me extra go.
It will put in sparkle,
And set my eyes aglow.

It will liven up my step,
And finish up my day.
And in the silence that comes on,
I'll have time to pray.

With evening songs of merriment,
When sunset shadows gleam.
T'will fit me for the quiet hours,
That comes on with sweet dreams.
