Trompe l'oeil at Castello Sannazzaro di Giarole

The Castle Sannazzaro is full of trompe l'oeil painting over walls and ceilings. You can never be sure is a pillar or moulding is real or not. This is a painting of Sannazzaro ancestors, mostly with droopy moustaches, which thankfully Guiseppe Sannazzaro, the current owner does not have.

This is the room we rehearsed in, with occasional forays into the ballroom or the courtyard for variety.
