Need a lift?

grey skies for mono monday today and decided to snap the Cliff lift along Southend seafront .  It was first opened in 1912 and has had many improvements over the years.  In 2003 it was then out of use for 7 years due to lack of funding and malfunctions but thankfully it has been brought back to life thanks to Lottery money and is now run by volunteers and mainly in use over the summer! Unless you are feeling brave and fancy climbing the many stairs up to the shops!  There is now another modern lift further along but that has suffered a few breakdowns recently so technology doesn't seem to be getting any better!
