Glasgow has some nice wee shortcuts.

Poshest of them has to be the Argyll Arcade, linking Argyle Street and Buchanan Street, by way of dozens of the best jewelers in town.

Strolled through in sandals, no jacket, straight out of hairdressers, into bright sun. Ten minutes later? Monsoon.

Sometimes pessimism is realism and optimism just foolishness.
