Otehei Bay, Urupukapuka

We had a fantastic walk here today and to top it all we enjoyed a kayak in the Bay before returning to Russell. We spotted lots of Rays-small and large just below the surface, which was quite beautiful.

What a glorious experience-we walked all round the island and encountered two couples who had become engaged, almost one after the other. What a hoot, they were so happy and we wished them the very best of luck.

The north of the island had steep cliffs and we enjoyed the Kiwi approach to health and safety-it's basically your responsibility to stay away from the edge, which seems fair enough given that we are adults and are capable of taking that responsibility. There were no signs or fences or anything!

A very common sense approach if you ask me.
