The start of this year has felt quite different to recent years. For me, January this time round signals not just the beginning for a new year but also a new season in life. The past twelve months particularly followed a rhythm that was shaped by deadlines and degree phases so it is a strange relief to look out on a year that does not have that academic outline.
Although I am not saying farewell to academia just yet, I do want to get out of the way of thinking like a student - it really is about time that I grow up! One of the silly, little, visual ways that I decided to do to help me along the way was to buy a non-academic diary. I do like having an all-singing, all-dancing smartphone, however I do also like putting pen to paper. I am still figuring out how to use this best but I am hoping in the weeks ahead that it will become something that I can use to be more intentional and organised about how I use my time, as well as keeping track of what I get up to and what I am thankful for each day.
At least, that is the plan.
Alongside that, I decided to return to trying daily photos. And where better to record my attempt than blip? It is good to be back!
